Spent the day running hither and thither, reading Revolutionary Road in the meantime. Why does it feel so much like me? God save me from mediocracy.
Also popped into the library, then kept dragging my new findings for 10 hours. Then came home, had a quick dinner and sat down in front of the PC only to work more. The thing is, I just enjoy it.
More to come next time.
How did you like Revolutionary Road? Is it worth reading? Some time ago I came across a list somewhere titled "The worst (most boring) novels that were turned into successful movies" or something very similar, and Revolutionary Road was in the top 3 if I remember well. Yet, I have been ogling it in Red Bus since the movie came out.
ReplyDeleteWell, I wouldn't say one of the most boring, that would be Remains of the Day, more likely. The problem is that there are praises from people like Vonnegut and Tennessee Williams on the cover and they sort of raise expactations. It was called "The Great Gatsby of our time." Actually, I liked the book, the style and the characters, but I didn't like the ending. Perhaps I will write about it. It raised lots of issues that are related to my life, and also worries about the future. We will watch the film, too. I can lend the book if you want.
