With or without you

The movie I've seen today is about the narrowest and wildest topic in the world, namely the relationship of two people. This is not the only angle to look at it but that is my focus now.
The movie is called The Reader. It is based on the international bestseller, Der Vorleser, by Bernhard Schlink. The English translation was written by Carol Brown Janeway.
In 1958, in West Germany, Michael Berg, a 15-year-old boy (David Kross) gets sick, and a woman in her thirties (Kate Winslet) takes care of him. Eventually, they become lovers, and the boy realizes that he cannot live without the woman any more. The boy reads to the woman every day, then they make love. This goes on until one day the boy finds the woman's flat empty. He never sees her again up until 8 years later, where Hanna is tried as a war criminal of World War II.
As I said, I won't take the issues of holocaust and collective vs. individual responsibility here. What I'm concerned with is the relationship of Michael and Hanna. Take the boy who gives his virginity to whom he considers to be the most beautiful woman on earth. And take in return the woman who worked hard all her life and have never had anyone to talk to or belong to. What she did when she left was ruining his entire life. Seeing her again in the courtroom must have been a major shock for Michael. It is even more shocking if we take into account that Hanna is the only person he can relate to. I don't want to spoil it, so I won't tell anything more except that you should definitely see this movie. Then stop and think about your life and the people who are important for you.

P.S. Kate Winslet is simply briliant.
P.P.S. The adult Michael is played by Ralph Fiennes.
