Words, words, words

After a considerable amount of reading I arrived at the conclusion yet again that I'd better clarify and note down the meaning of some words that I came upon recently, just to be on the safe side. So let's see what we have.

whimsical unusual and not serious in a way that is either amusing or annoying
oblivious not aware of sth
wench (old use or humorous) a young woman (actually from the context I assumed it meant a whore)
condemn (has at least 5 different meanings, of which I mention the first only) express disapproval
importune to ask sb for sth many times and in a way that is annoying
inclination a feeling that makes you want to do sth
squire a man of high social status who owned most of the land in a particular country area
rascal a person, especially a child or man, who shows a lack of respect for other people and enjoys playing tricks on them
to make amends to do sth for sb in order to show that you are sorry for sth wrong or unfair that you have done
abode the place where somebody lives
perjury the crime of telling a lie in court

I can't remember more at present. Most of these are taken from Tom Jones (not the singer of course), which is indeed quite long, so I cannot predict when I will finish it.
