Easy like Sunday morning

For some reason a weekend without my boyfriend doesn't count as a "real" weekend for me. Luckily, we've had a lot of weekends together recently. Just last weekend we did a whole lot of things. Here's what.
On Friday evening after the orchestra session we watched the movie Whale Rider and spent the night together. It is a beautiful film, and also very sad and moving. I've read the book by Witi Ihimaera before so I won't talk about it now.
On Saturday we set off at around 11 am. to Füvészkert, which is a more than 160-year-old botanical garden in the 9th district (and an important venue in Molnár Ferenc's A Pál utcai fiúk). It was my boyfriend's idea, but I loved it very much. I noticed about one or two weeks ago that now is the tulip season, and I just love looking at them. I prefer the modest red and yellow ones to the pinks and hybrids and those with serrated petals. The palm house and the other houses were amazing, although there was quite hot in there, about 30 C. Probably the most striking spectacle was a pond with water lilies, whose leaves had a diameter of between 50 and 100 cm. My boyfriend told me they are so strong that they can hold an adult. Oh, and don't forget the brilliant bonsai trees.
After our 2-hour walk in the garden we took the underground to Arriba Taqueria, a Mexican fast food restaurant opposite the Mammut shopping center. We used pre-paid vouchers, and got a portion of tortilla chips, a giant burrito wrap (about half a pound in weight), and a soda drink each. It is a crazy little place with pink and turquoise paintings and tiny Frida Kahlos in strange outfits on the wall. The door to the rest room cubicles resembles the saloon door known from western movies. I think we'll go back in the future.
The afternoon ended with shopping for food, but I don't mind it. Then at my boyfriend's place we watched the latest episode of the sitcom Mindenből egy van, and finally I played with my favorite computer game.
On Sunday we wanted to leave after lunch, but we rarely have lunch before 3 pm, so I just left without eating. We arrived at about 3.30 pm at the museum of transport in Városliget. There we visited the brand new temporary exhibition called Titanic 100, which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the famous steamer Titanic. There were some relics and detailed descriptions about the ship and the passengers. In general it was interesting and thorough, with a section on new examinations of the wrecks. Perhaps they could have spent a day more checking spelling mistakes. And writing David Cameron instead of James is I think a shame.
