According to Facebook, exactly three of my friends got married last weekend. I feel like Monica Geller. Oh, did I mention I spend two or three hours each day watching
Friends? My boyfriend hasn't seen it yet, and now he's so much in love with it, he wants to start over when we are finished with the ten seasons. You see, he's not a great lover of TV series, and that's about the only sitcom he likes. And among other genres,
Game of Thrones is the one he follows. Funny thing is, the more I see from the series, the more resemblance I find between him and Ross. To be honest, I would feel more comfortable with Chandler. Not the criticizing and cynical Chandler of the first few years but the older, caring one, who settles down with Monica. Sometimes I think that I am most like Chandler and not like any of the girls.
Allow me a sentimental note here. Perhaps it's the first time a crisis brings us closer rather than makes me want to get out. I really want to marry him. "This time I know it for real."
Originally I wanted to post a few book titles here that I've read since
Girl with a Pearl Earring. I don't think I'll get to 50 this year but never mind. Job hunt and sudoku puzzles use up most of my energy.
- Pascal Mercier: Night Train to Lisbon (currently reading - btw has a lot to say to me just now, e.g. finding one's self etc.)
- Pauline Melville: The Ventriloquist's Tale
- Alice Walker: The Complete Stories (made me a fan of her for good)
- Tales from the Arabian Nights
- Charles Baudelaire versei
- Gaston Leroux: The Phantom of the Opera
I think I've collected all, in reverse order. Which means the total adds up to 36, given that I finish Mercier's sooner or later. I also started
Dubliners by Joyce but I have to admit I quit reading it. I guess it wasn't the right time.
