Queen of the Night

In short:
  1. I've read Ének a búzamezőkről by Ferenc Móra.
  2. At the moment I'm reading Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris.
  3. I've been invited to a job interview for next Friday. I was so happy I was beside myself.
Since then Mom has turned the whole thing into a neverending shopping spree, similar to those preceding a wedding. On Thursday she bought me a skirt, a jacket, a blouse, and a waistcoat. Today I went to the cosmetician for a face treatment (don't know how it's expressed in English). Next Thursday I'm having my legs waxed. Friday morning hairdresser's. Afternoon, welcome the brand new me. Till then we have to get a pair of businesslike black shoes and a matching handbag. Mom says you only have to do it once, and that this is an ivestment in my future.
I hope you don't believe that this is the ordinary procedure we apply when anyone in the family is shortlisted for an interview. But this job means a lot, and I'd be really glad to get it. Oh, please, I want that job sooo much. Keep your fingers crossed for me if you have the time and feel like it. I'll get in touch asap.

P.S. In August I'll be maid of honor on my bestest friend's wedding. So exciting. Another friend is having a baby soon and is simply gorgeous. Yet another friend has just published her second translated book. These are the days!
